Meira’s Tekeeyah (a call) is a semi-finalist for the 2021 American Prize in Composition.
A concerto for shofar/trombone soloist and orchestra, it was commissioned by the Dayton Philharmonic, Wilmington (NC) Symphony, Western Piedmont Symphony, University of South Carolina Symphony and the Brevard Philharmonic, and Premiered by the Wilmington Symphony on October 24, 2009.
It was recorded for the Navona label by the Moravian Philharmonic, Petr Vronsky, conductor, with Haim Avitsur, shofar and trombone soloist.
