Yishakeyni Part of American Society for Jewish Music Virtual Concert

Meira’s Yishakeyni for soprano, flute and piano will be part of an American Society for Jewish Music virtual concert, Jewish Music of Our Time, to be broadcast June 24 @ 8 PM EDT.

The live performance video was recorded by The Jerusalem Lyric Trio, Amalia Ishak, soprano; Wendy Eisler, flute, and Allan Sternfeld, piano. Meira will introduce the work as part of the presentation. The concert had been originally scheduled for Fall, 2019, at the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan, but this was, of course, cancelled.

Yishakeyni sets the first four verses of “Song of Songs,” the great love song of the Bible. See The Jerusalem Lyric Trio’s performance, in two parts, below.
