Meira’s Yiddish Fantasy in its newly revised arrangement for violin and piano, will be performed by violinist William Terwilliger, with fellow University of South Carolina School of Music in Columbia faculty member pianist Charles Fugo as part of the Freeman Sundays @ 3 concert series, October 31 @ 3 PM EDT.
The program will also include Concerto for Oboe by Ralph Vaughan Williams, performed by Hassan Anderson, oboe and Charles Fugo, piano, Sonata for Viola and Piano by Rebecca Clarke, with Daniel Sweaney, viola and Lynn Kompass, piano, Death of a Seaman by Cecil Cohen, Bayou Home by William Grant Still and Nunc Dimittis by Eugene Hancock, the last three performed by Jacob Will, baritone and Lynn Kompass, piano.
This concert features the university’s renowned music faculty in chamber music programs that pair canonic masterpieces alongside brand new works.
