Violinist Zina Schiff will perform Meira’s Bracha for violin, with organ accompaniment by Heinrich Christensen, as part of her concert on Wednesday, March 28, from, 12 to 1 PM at King’s Chapel, 58 Tremont St. in Boston, MA, as one of the “Noon Hour Recitals ” at the historic Chapel, on the Freedom Trail. Concerts start promptly at 12:15 and run about 35 minutes to fit in with downtown worker’s lunch hour.
The program is designed in tribute to Women’s History Month,and also includes works by Rebecca Clarke, Florence Price, and Ellen Taaffe Zwilich. And, as Ms, Schiff says, “And not to discriminate,I am planning to play a work recently written for me by David Hush (woman as muse!) and W.G. Still’s Mother and Child (female art subject as muse!)”
