Meira’s Symphony No. 1: Living Breathing Earth will be broadcast in its entirety on Monday, July 27 @ 9 PM on Wilmington, NC’s HQRClassical 92.7 FM’s Evening Concert with Pat Marriott. Movements 2, 3 and 4 (Tahuayo River at Night, Wings in Flight and Living, Breathing Earth) from the Symphony were part of the 2nd hour of the Wednesday, July 22 edition of Minnesota Public Radio/American Public Media’s Performance Today program and will be featured on their weekend edition this coming weekend. The performance was the February 3, 2007 World Premiere by The Western Piedmont Symphony; John Gordon Ross, conductor, at 1st Baptist Church in Hickory, NC.
The Symphony was also broadcast July 18 in an April 2007 performance by the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Neal Gittleman, conductor on WDPR 88.1 FM, Dayton (OH) Public Radio – https://www.discoverclassical.org/concert-night.htm.
