See Meira’s Interview With Filmmaker Ching Juhl

The virtual talk focused on Meira’s family opera-in-progress Elijah’s Violin. With a libretto by Susan Levi Wallach (who also participated in the interview) and the composer, based on a Jewish fairy tale, the piece has been performed in semi-staged productions and workshops. The hour-long opera follows young people as they encounter demons, overcome fears and doubts, and discover the liberating power of the heart’s true song.
