A national Concert Across America to End Gun Violence is scheduled for Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 4 PM. The Columbia, SC event, to be hosted by Main Street United Methodist Church, will be one of several concerts held across the U.S., each connected via social media and online at www.concertacrossamerica.org.

Meira’s Bati l’Gani (I Entered My Garden) for solo flute, will be performed by Jennifer Parker-Harley.

Bati l’Gani offers glimpses of intimacy between lovers, between G-d and His/Her creation, the delight of recognition: Divine goodness flowing into the world. The Shechinah, God’s in-dwelling Presence, enters the earthly garden of Creation. It was inspired by Song of Songs, Ch. 5, vs. 1.

The Concert Across America will take place on Sept. 23, the date designated by Congress in 2007 as a day of remembrance for murder victims. This nationwide event will bring together a network of organizations, activists and artists to remember the victims of gun violence across the nation and in each state.
