Meira’s Bati l”Gani (I have come into my garden) for solo flute, will be performed on Sunday, March 8 at the International Women’s Day and Beyond concert at University of Western Australia Conservatorium of Music, 35 Stirling Highway in Perth, Australia.
This event will celebrate works written by women from the baroque era to the present day, featuring UWA Conservatorium staff, students and alumni. The concert is the first by the newly founded Tenth Muse Initiative.
Featured works include Strozzi’s Begli Occhi, Caroline Shaw’s Dolce Cantavi, Chaminade’s Villanelle, Meira’s Bati I’gani, Jocelyn Morlock’s Let, and four works written and performed by UWA students and alumni. Many of these works will be having their West Australian premiere performances, plus a World Premiere of Lydia Gardiner’s A minute.
