Israeli cellist Ina Esther Joost will perform Meira’s In Memoriam for cello and strings with University of South Carolina’s Chamber Orchestra, Donald Portnoy conductor (seen at right), on March 28 in Columbia – https://artsandsciences.sc.edu/jstp/ina-esther-joost-ben-sasson-principal-cellist-jerusalem-symphony-orchestra-0. Violinist Bella Hristova also joins U of SC’s premier chamber orchestra for this concert.
Bella Hristova is acclaimed for her passionate, powerful performances, beautiful sound, and compelling command of her instrument. The Washington Post noted that she is “a player of impressive power and control.” She performs Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in A Major, K219, often referred to by the nickname “The Turkish.”
