Cherchez la Femme (Lisa Goethe-McGinn, flutes and Erica Lessie, cello) will perform Meira’s Bati L’Gani (I Came Into My Garden) and In Memoriam (September 11, 2001) in their, respectively, solo flute and solo cello versions on March 1 @ 2 PM at Columbia College Chicago’s Sherwood Recital Hall and on March 7 @ 2 PM at Chicago High School for the Arts, as part of the duo’s Women Composers in America – 1900 to the Present programs. Other composers to be presented include Louise Talma, Dorothy Rudd Moore, Katherine Hoover, Barbara Kolb, Gwyneth Walker, Billie Holiday, Joan Tower, Odaline de la Martinez and Sylvia Hazlerig.
These performances follow the duo’s February 14 performance of Bati L’Gani at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
