Meira’s Bati l’Gani for solo flute will be presented on November 10 @ 3 PM as Part of Soundscape Under Construction Concert Series event at Clayton State University’s Spivey Hall, 2000 Clayton State Blvd. in Morrow, GA.
The composer writes, “Bati l’Gani (I entered my garden) offers glimpses of intimacy between lovers, between G-d and His/Her creation, the delight of recognition: Divine goodness flowing into the world. The Shechinah, God’s in-dwelling Presence, enters the earthly garden of Creation. It is inspired by Song of Songs, Ch. 5, vs. 1.” Hear a performance by Paula Robison below.
Performer for November 10 will be flutist Matthieu Clavé.
The Soundscape Series is a classical music concert series in three movements designed to inspire, enlighten, and educate. A transatlantic project in nature, The Soundscape Series presents works by both French and American composers, including composers based in Atlanta.
